About

CEOs of private companies and family-owned businesses face different challenges than CEOs of public companies. Whether it’s selling the business, dealing with a takeover attempt, or losing a key executive, the stakes are higher—and more personal.

Accent Capital is dedicated to helping clients meet these challenges head-on. Founder Milton Reeder works directly with CEOs to understand their options and achieve successful financial and personal outcomes.

The Accent Difference

Accent’s focus is on the CEO. Unlike investment bankers who are rightly focused on making the transaction, and private equity funds that are looking for the best investment, Accent counsels and advocates for the CEO. Accent Founder Milton Reeder provides strategic options to meet the CEO’s goals, along with the financial and personal tradeoffs. Once a strategy is set, he works with internal teams and outside resources, advocating for CEO throughout the process of financing, executive transition, or company sale to ensure a successful outcome.

Milt Reeder

For Accent Capital Partners Founder Milton Reeder, business is personal. He is passionate about working collaboratively with CEOs as a creative and strategic problem-solver. While he brings deep expertise to the financial side of the business, clients frequently ask him to consult on other non-financial issues as well.

  • Creative Problem-Solver

Milt’s unique combination of skills allows him to quickly understand a client company’s issues and make recommendations in the CEO’s best interest.  This includes finding the right seller/buyer match, optimizing company valuation, providing options to finance growth, neutralizing hostile takeovers and ensuring the CEO’s financial and nonfinancial goals are met.

  • Expertise and Experience as a CEO, COO, and CFO

Before founding Accent Capital in 2002, Milt had run XX private and public companies and merged five public companies into a single entity. Highlights include:

    • Successful sale of Meridian Industrial Trust (NYSE: MDN) to ProLogis for $1.5B
    • Raised private equity capital
    • Completed two public equity offerings
    • Obtained investment-grade ratings on corporate debt
    • Financed over $1.0B in secured and unsecured debt transactions

After his last successful merger, Milt was asked to begin consulting with a few private companies, and Accent Capital Partners was born.

  • How He Got His Start

Milt earned a BA in Business Administration from the University of Michigan. He is a certified public account, a licensed real estate broker, and a member of the National Association of Realtors, the Urban Land Institute, and the Association for Corporate Growth.
